Shah Rukh Khan stays king of the Hurun list, minus Rs 2,490 crore
Amitabh Bachchan more than doubles his pile as Salman Khan crashes the party
MUMBAI: Shah Rukh Khan is still the king of the rich list. His wallet is a little lighter, that is all.
The M3M Hurun India Rich List 2026 names Khan the richest Indian actor for the second year running, with Rs 10,000 crore. That covers Red Chillies Entertainment and Knight Riders Sports. It is also Rs 2,490 crore short of the Rs 12,490 crore he was given last year. Earlier this year the Hurun Global Rich List had him at $1.3 billion (Rs 10,800 crore), one of 57 new Indian entrants. Different lists count different assets and valuations, so the numbers swing from edition to edition.
Seven entertainers and cricketers made this year’s cut. Here is the full line-up.

The big mover is Amitabh Bachchan. His wealth leapt from Rs 1,630 crore last year to Rs 4,000 crore. He runs no business of his own, yet his family office backs many companies, and he holds a lot of real estate as well.
Salman Khan is a new entry, at Rs 3,000 crore. Hrithik Roshan rose from Rs 2,160 crore to Rs 2,500 crore, thanks to his HRX brand.
Two names from last year have gone missing. Juhi Chawla, at Rs 7,790 crore, and Karan Johar, at Rs 1,880 crore, are not on this list.
The cricketers get a group of their own for the first time. Virat Kohli leads at Rs 1,600 crore, with Sachin Tendulkar and Mahendra Singh Dhoni level at Rs 1,500 crore each. Their fortunes rest on brands, endorsements and investments.
And the richest name with a film connection never faces a camera. Naresh Malhotra, father of Ramayana producer Namit Malhotra, is on the list with Rs 16,000 crore, more than any star here.
Now to the box office. Khan has had no release since 2023, when Pathaan, Jawan and Dunki arrived within one year and all did excellent business. His next film is King, directed by Siddharth Anand, with his daughter Suhana Khan on screen beside him. It is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, and it opens on 24 December.
Talk about the date had fans worried. Khan cleared it up on 15 September in an #AskSRK session on X. He said the film would release as scheduled, with promotional material due before 24 December. He also admitted to injuries during the shoot that interrupted the schedule, but said the work is nearly done.
The crown weighs Rs 2,490 crore less than it did. King lands on Christmas Eve, and that is when Khan can start refilling it.
