KBC 18 promos put ‘Sochna Padega’ in the spotlight ahead of August 10 premiere

Mumbai: Thinking caps are officially on. Sony Entertainment Television has unveiled two new promos for Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18, taking this year’s theme, ‘Sochna Padega’, beyond the quiz show’s iconic hot seat and into everyday conversations ahead of its August 10 premiere.

The new campaign stars host Amitabh Bachchan in two light-hearted, slice-of-life scenarios that reinforce the idea that this season, getting to the right answer will require more than just memory. Contestants will be encouraged to pause, analyse and think before locking in their final answer.

In the first promo, Bachchan visits a café and asks the waiter whether the restaurant serves better Indian or Chinese food. Instead of responding immediately, the waiter pauses before replying, “Sir, aap hi ki baat se yaad aaya… sochna padega.” Playing along, Bachchan smiles and quips, “Smart guy hai,” before deciding to order everything except the Chinese dishes. The exchange playfully shows how the show’s signature phrase has become part of everyday conversations.

The second promo shifts to Bachchan’s balcony, where he is seen watering his plants and jokingly asking whether they will finally bloom after all the care they have received. Anticipating the familiar response, he says, “Ab yeh mat kahiyega humse ki sochna padega,” before remarking that the phrase seems to have spread everywhere. He then reveals the thinking behind the new season, saying that simply remembering answers will no longer be enough and that finding the correct response will require careful thought.

Through the two films, Sony Entertainment Television introduces the refreshed format for Season 18 while reinforcing the show’s central message that thoughtful reasoning will be just as important as knowledge.

Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18 premieres on August 10 and will air Monday to Friday at 9 pm on Sony Entertainment Television and stream on Sony LIV.
