Bigg Boss Malayalam 7 sets viewership record across TV and digital
MUMBAI: Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 7 has once again proved that Kerala loves a good dose of drama. The latest edition has smashed every record in sight, becoming the most-watched season yet across Asianet and JioHotstar.
On television, the show reached a staggering 84 per cent of Kerala’s population, turning living rooms across the state into daily viewing camps. JioHotstar, meanwhile, reported a roaring digital performance. On finale day alone, video views doubled compared with last season, while watch-time jumped an eye-catching 137 per cent.
JioStar head of cluster, entertainment (South) Krishnan Kutty, said the numbers show how deeply the franchise has settled into Kerala’s cultural rhythm. He added that the spike in Connected TV viewing reflects how families now choose to watch the show together on the big screen.
Across the season, JioHotstar recorded 65 per cent higher video views and a 36 per cent rise in watch-time. Connected TV contributed a full quarter of total watch-time, signalling a shift towards large-screen bingeing. Season 7 also became the strongest weekday and weekend performer in the franchise’s history.
On Asianet, the show reached 7.37 million viewers and delivered its highest-ever finale ratings, along with record weekday and weekend numbers. Social media buzz soared too, with 6.2 billion interactions flooding platforms. A commoner finishing as second runner-up added heart, while Mohanlal’s refreshed style became a talking point of its own.
Advertisers flocked to the frenzy, with 17 brands from MyG and Berger Paints to Swiggy and Havells joining the season. Their strong participation further cemented Bigg Boss Malayalam as Kerala’s most influential entertainment property.
With record ratings, booming watch-time and sky-high digital chatter, Season 7 stands tall as the biggest and most successful edition yet, reaffirming JioStar’s ambition to deliver content that captures the state’s imagination.
