ZEEL names Sanket Rassal as director – OAP head – sports creative services

MUMBAI: Veteran sports creative professional Sanket Rassal has joined Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited as director – OAP head – sports creative services, marking a significant addition to the broadcaster’s sports creative leadership team.

In his new role, he will oversee on-air presentation and sports creative strategy as Zee continues to sharpen its sports broadcasting identity in a competitive media landscape.

Rassal brings with him extensive experience across India’s sports media and broadcast design ecosystem. Most recently, he worked with Sportz Interactive as OAP Lead, contributing to major sports properties including work connected with JioCinema and Sports18, shaping fan-facing broadcast packaging and digital sports storytelling.

Earlier, he served as creative director at Prime Focus Technologies, where he focused on broadcast innovation and creative production systems. He has also directed independent advertising films and spent a significant part of his career at Star India, where he held senior roles including executive director – OAP – star sports and associate executive producer roles across key sports channels.

Over the years, Rassal has built a reputation for shaping high-energy sports presentation styles, combining broadcast clarity with fan-first storytelling.

With his latest move to Zee, the broadcaster appears set to strengthen its sports creative direction at a time when presentation, packaging and digital integration are becoming just as crucial as the action on the field.
