Viraj Chavan elevated to vice president at ZEE5
The promotion caps a steady ascent through content acquisition and strategy roles at one of India’s leading streaming platforms
MUMBAI: Viraj Chavan has been elevated to vice president at ZEE5, the Zee Entertainment-owned streaming platform, after more than six years with the company.
Chavan joined ZEE5 in December 2019 as associate director of content acquisition, steadily climbing through the ranks. He was elevated to director in July 2023, a role he held for three years before his latest promotion to vice president in April 2026.
Before ZEE5, Chavan spent a year and a half at MX Player as deputy general manager of content acquisition and licensing. Prior to that, he served nearly three years at Sri Adhikari Brothers Group, heading consumer insights and digital business across the SAB Group and its platform Happii Fi. Earlier in his career, he spent close to four years at TAM Media Research as associate manager in the strategy group, working on client hypothesis-building, in-depth analysis and business development. He also did a stint at Intelenet Global Services and a summer internship at Reliance Communications.
In his new role, Chavan said he looks forward to building meaningful partnerships, driving content strategies and contributing to ZEE5’s next phase of growth.
Nearly seventeen years in the making, from a customer service executive at Intelenet to vice president at one of India’s biggest streamers. Not a bad arc.
