Parashar returns to cricket marketing after stints at Rajasthan Royals and Disney
Mumbai: Cricket has called Dwijendra Parashar back to the crease. JioStar has appointed Parashar as senior director of marketing – sports, marking his return to the sports marketing ecosystem after a brief stint with Tata Consumer Products.
Parashar announced the move on LinkedIn, describing the appointment as a “new role” and adding: “Turns out you can take a man out of cricket, but not cricket out of the man!”
He joins JioStar after serving as general manager – innovations at Tata Consumer Products. He had taken up that role in April 2026, following a short stint as associate director – marketing at the company.
Parashar brings substantial experience in sports and brand marketing to JioStar. Before joining Tata Consumer Products, he was head of marketing at Rajasthan Royals, a role he held from April 2024 to December 2025.
His earlier cricket-focused experience includes more than two years at The Walt Disney Company, where he worked as senior marketing manager – cricket and marketing lead for ESPNcricinfo, after serving as marketing manager – cricket.
The appointment comes as JioStar continues to build its sports business around some of India’s biggest broadcast and streaming properties. The company’s sports portfolio spans major cricket properties, making Parashar’s experience across cricket marketing, fan engagement and brand strategy particularly relevant.
Before moving into sports and consumer marketing, Parashar spent more than six years at Pidilite Industries, holding roles including senior brand manager – stationery adhesives, head of field marketing and branch manager.
His return to cricket-focused marketing therefore brings together experience across sports, entertainment and consumer brands, positioning him to work on JioStar’s growing sports marketing agenda.
Parashar holds an MBA in sales, distribution and marketing operations from SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS).
With cricket remaining one of the biggest engines of India’s sports media economy, JioStar’s latest leadership addition strengthens its marketing bench with an executive who has worked across the sport’s broadcast, franchise and brand sides.
