ZEE & Google bring AI Mode into Zee TV shows through fiction-led storytelling
‘Dilfluencers’ weave Google Search’s AI Mode into everyday dilemmas and decisions
Mumbai: Search is getting a starring role on television. Zee Entertainment Enterprises (ZEE) and Google have joined hands to integrate Google Search’s AI Mode into popular Zee TV fiction shows through what the companies describe as authentic, story-led brand integration.
The collaboration brings Google Search’s AI Mode into the fictional worlds of shows including Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan, with upcoming integrations also planned for Tumm Se Tumm Takk. Rather than using conventional product placement, the technology will become part of characters’ everyday journeys, helping them tackle questions, explore possibilities and make decisions.
The initiative launched around Independence Day through a brand film featuring Amandeep Sidhu, who plays Sneha in Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan. The campaign positions the show’s characters as ‘Dilfluencers’, using their emotional connection with viewers to introduce new technology in familiar situations.
The brand film takes viewers behind the scenes, where Amandeep’s character interacts with Aarti, played by Rajsi Bhave. Aarti reveals that she plans to leave her current work and pursue her ambition of opening a beauty salon.
As their conversation unfolds, Aarti explains how she dealt with the questions and uncertainties involved in starting a business, with Google Search’s AI Mode helping her navigate the process.
The storyline demonstrates how AI Mode can understand context and respond to more complex queries, positioning it as a conversational extension of the traditional Search experience.
The campaign is built around the thought “Google Search ka Naya AI Mode, Samjhe, Samjhaye aur Raah Dikhaye”, highlighting the role of AI in simplifying information and helping users approach everyday decisions with greater clarity.
The integration will continue beyond the launch film, with AI Mode expected to feature in upcoming episodes of Tumm Se Tumm Takk and Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan. The technology will appear at key moments in the characters’ stories, where their aspirations, dilemmas and questions naturally create opportunities for contextual assistance.
The partnership uses ZEE’s Dilfluencer Moments, a branded-content format designed to place brands inside trusted storytelling environments rather than simply alongside them.
The format aims to extend these integrations across television, digital and other consumer touchpoints, using characters and storylines to build familiarity with a brand or product.
Sandeep Mehrotra, chief operating officer, advertisement revenue, Zee Entertainment Enterprises, said advertisers are increasingly seeking ways to connect with consumers beyond visibility and that the Google collaboration demonstrates how technology can become part of stories audiences are already emotionally invested in.
Kartik Mahadev, Zee Entertainment Enterprises, said the objective was to make the integration feel like part of the story world rather than an external addition. He added that the Independence Day launch gives the idea of independence a contemporary interpretation by connecting it with everyday confidence and decision-making.
The collaboration reflects a broader shift in how technology brands are introducing AI to mainstream audiences. Instead of explaining the technology through conventional advertising, ZEE and Google are placing AI Mode within situations viewers can recognise from their own lives.
By combining the reach of television with the familiarity of fiction characters, the companies are betting that storytelling can make an emerging technology feel less intimidating and more useful.
As AI moves from being a novelty to an everyday tool, ZEE and Google are giving it a new role: not just a search feature, but a supporting character in the lives of television’s most relatable protagonists.
