Sanchit Kashyap joins Indian Express as digital video head
Lallantop sales chief moves on after two decades in TV ad sales
Sanchit Kashyap has swapped Lallantop’s newsroom energy for the Indian Express’s digital ambitions. He has joined the group as senior vice president and head of digital video monetisation, closing out a two-decade run in television advertising sales with one of print’s biggest legacy names now betting on video.
The move caps just under two years leading brand solutions at the Lallantop, TV Today Network’s breakout Hindi digital news brand, where Kashyap headed national sales after an earlier stint as general manager of the Lallantop Impact. Before that came over three years as vice president, sales, at NDTV, a six-month run as general manager and national vertical head at magicpin, and nearly a decade at Times Television Network, where he led content marketing sales for the north region across Times Now and ET Now.
His career runs deeper still: advertising sales for Zee TV’s flagship Hindi GEC at Zee Entertainment, business events and customised solutions at NDTV Media, and a stint in CNBC TV18’s special events team, Focus, early on. Across every stop, the common thread has been the same, inventory selling, brand solutions and turning television reach into revenue.
Kashyap was warm in his farewell to the Lallantop, crediting Gaurav Verma for trusting him with the sales leadership role and thanking a long list of colleagues for what he called a perfectly orchestrated symphony of a journey, complete with what he fondly termed legendary post-event parties. He signed off with a nod to the show’s catchphrase, promising the adda would keep going.
Two decades of TV ad sales built the résumé. Now Kashyap gets to prove whether that playbook translates to digital video, at a masthead with plenty riding on the answer.
