Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan joke about female fan following on Family Full House
A playful question from Maniesh Paul sparks a cheeky exchange between the cricket stars
MUMBAI: It was a case of bat, banter and a little bit of blush. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan found themselves batting away a rather personal question when Maniesh Paul asked which of the two had enjoyed the bigger female fan following during their single days on Family Full House with Rohit Sharma.
The question, “Jab dono single the, toh kis ke around sabse zyada female fans hoti thi?”, immediately set the tone for a light-hearted exchange between the two former India teammates.
Rohit was quick to point the spotlight towards Shikhar, choosing his opening partner as the one who had more female fans. Shikhar, however, had a compliment ready for Rohit.
“I think that in India, especially Indian girls, love cute looks more, so Rohit is cute,” Shikhar said.
Rohit was not quite buying the carefully diplomatic answer. He laughed and hit back, “Bada diplomatic answer de rahe ho idhar.”
The teasing continued when Maniesh noticed Rohit gradually moving away as Shikhar delivered his answer. The host could not resist drawing attention to it.
“Jaise-jaise Gabbar yeh baat keh rahe the, aap dheere-dheere ‘haan haan’ karke side hote ja rahe the. Yeh sharmaana kyun?” Maniesh asked.
Rohit was quick to deny any embarrassment, explaining that his laughter was actually down to Shikhar’s choice of words.
“Sharma nahi raha hoon. Bhai, main iske jawaabon pe hans raha tha yaar. Kyunki itne diplomatic answers de raha hai yeh ki ‘cute sa tha’, yeh tha, woh tha,” Rohit said.
The exchange got another twist when a fan from the audience called out, “Rohit bhai aap bhi cute ho.”
Rohit took the compliment in his stride, but used the moment to bring the conversation back to the present. “Aree koi baat nhi yaar. Aree Bhai, lekin dono abhi shaadi-shuda hain aur kaafi khush hain,” he said.
The conversation offered a glimpse of the easy camaraderie between Rohit and Shikhar, whose on-field partnership for India has long been matched by their off-field friendship and banter. With Maniesh steering the conversation towards their single days and the audience joining in, the segment turned into a playful reminder that even cricket stars are not immune to a little friendly teasing.
