Jagdale scores official licensing rights for Argentina football in India
Pharma player teams up with AFA, betting that Messi’s magic can sell more than medicine
MUMBAI: Argentina’s footballing crown jewels are about to land on Indian pharmacy shelves. Jagdale Industries has struck a deal with the Argentina Football Association to become its official licensee in India, stitching together the global pedigree of Argentine football with a homegrown healthcare business built on, of all things, painkillers and hydration drinks.
The collaboration brings AFA’s branding onto Jagdale’s flagship portfolio, led by DART, a trusted analgesic tablet for symptomatic relief of pain and fever, alongside MULMINA, a ready to drink nutritional immunity booster, and ONEL, a scientifically formulated hydration beverage. It is a curious pairing on paper, World Cup winners and over the counter remedies, but Jagdale is betting that AFA’s global recognition and sporting legacy can do for its products what clinical trials alone cannot.
Beyond the products themselves, Jagdale plans a slate of engagement led initiatives built around the partnership, aimed at deepening ties with healthcare professionals, chemists, institutional customers and its own sales teams. The idea is to use AFA’s pull to create fresh opportunities for recognition, participation and stakeholder engagement right across its business network.
Rajesh Nagaraja Rao Jagdale, chairman and managing director of Jagdale Industries, said the company was immensely proud to begin the association with one of the most celebrated football institutions in the world, calling it a significant milestone that reflects the firm’s commitment to its vision of excellence through quality and innovation. He added that the passion and winning spirit AFA embodies resonates strongly with the values that have guided the organisation over the years.
Leandro Petersen, chief commercial and marketing officer at the Argentina Football Association, said the federation was delighted to welcome Jagdale Industries as an official licensee in India, pointing to the company’s standing in the country’s healthcare and wellness sector as proof it was the ideal partner as AFA looks to grow its presence in one of the world’s most dynamic markets.
Pranav Mani Chinnaswamy, president for the Middle East and India at Druid Sport, AFA’s exclusive commercial representative in the Indian subcontinent, said the agency was thrilled to welcome Jagdale into the AFA family, describing it as a company with deep roots in Indian healthcare and a genuine commitment to the communities it serves, and noted that Druid Sport was proud to have facilitated the tie up ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
With AFA’s global stature now bolted onto Jagdale’s market muscle, the partnership is aiming squarely at India’s swelling football fanbase, just as World Cup fever starts to build. Whether it is DART for a headache or ONEL after a sweaty five-a-side, Argentina’s badge is about to get a very Indian workout.
