Launch at Chennai roundtable comes as TVK government completes 100 days in office
MUMBAI: Tamil Nadu’s political conversation just got a new channel and it wants truth to take centre stage. Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on Monday launched the India Today Tamil YouTube channel, calling for a media space where “truth speak louder”, as the India Today Tamil Roundtable got underway in Chennai.
The launch coincided with 100 days of the TVK government in office and marked Vijay’s first media interaction since he became chief minister in May, following the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
The Roundtable brings together politicians, policymakers, business leaders and entertainment personalities to assess the government’s first 100 days while debating some of the state’s biggest political and economic questions.
Among the key discussions is a session titled ‘Annamalai Beyond BJP’, featuring former BJP leader K Annamalai, who will discuss his political journey and future plans after leaving the party following the Tamil Nadu polls.
Sports Minister Aadhav Arjuna is also set to present the government’s performance during its first 100 days, while the politically charged issue of delimitation will receive a separate spotlight.

The delimitation discussion features MDMK MP Durai Vaiko, Congress MP Praveen Chakravarty, BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan and DMK spokesperson Salem Dharanidharan, bringing competing political perspectives to a debate that has become increasingly significant for Tamil Nadu.
The state’s long-running Cauvery water dispute will also feature, with PMK MP Anbumani Ramadoss taking part in the discussion. DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran will appear in a separate political conversation.
The Roundtable is not keeping its lens trained solely on politics. Tamil Nadu’s economic prospects and investment environment will also come under discussion, alongside challenges involving corruption, education, energy, finance and healthcare.
Adding an entertainment angle to the programme, actor Dhruv Vikram is scheduled to appear for an exclusive session.
With the YouTube launch and the Roundtable, India Today Tamil is expanding its digital footprint while placing the state’s political transition, policy challenges and wider public debate at the centre of its programming.
