Tringbox raises five crore in seed funding to develop AI-Powered in-store music intelligence platform
Nikhil Gandhi and Paytm’s Narendra Singh Yadav back start-up’s bet on context-aware sound
MUMBAI: Tringbox, an AI-first music technology start-up, has raised approximately ₹5 crore in seed funding to accelerate the development of its in-store AI music intelligence platform for commercial spaces.
The funding round was led by Nikhil Gandhi through GIPL, with participation from MGB Family Office and Narendra Singh Yadav, Chief Business Officer at Paytm. Additional backing came from angel investors through One Love Technologies Private Limited, the parent company of Tringbox.
Founded by Amandeep Singh Chawla, Tringbox spent its first year operating in stealth mode, focusing on the development of its core artificial intelligence technology, conducting pilot deployments and refining its product through real-world feedback before its public launch.
The company is currently deployed across more than 30 premium venues in India, including cafes, gyms, salons, clubs, restaurants, retail outlets and clinics.
Tringbox has also secured access to NVIDIA Inception and AWS start-up credits worth ₹1 crore, providing the company with advanced AI tools, technical support and access to a global innovation ecosystem as it expands its platform and infrastructure.
Traditional background music systems typically rely on fixed playlists that fail to account for venue context, customer mood and changing conditions throughout the day. Tringbox aims to redefine the category through its InStore AI Music platform, which dynamically adapts music selections based on factors such as venue type, weather conditions, temperature, humidity, time of day and day of the week.
The company believes that music suitable for a Monday morning may not deliver the same customer experience on a Friday evening, and its technology is designed to respond to such variations automatically.
At the heart of the platform is Tringbox’s proprietary Hybrid Neuro-Symbolic Music Engine, which combines audio intelligence with real-time venue data. The system analyses musical characteristics including tempo, rhythm, loudness, energy, spectral balance and harmonic stability to curate music that aligns with the emotional and functional requirements of a commercial environment.
“At Tringbox, we believe music is not just content; it is infrastructure,” said Amandeep Singh Chawla, Founder of Tringbox AI. “Wherever there is a speaker inside a commercial space, the music playing through it should be powered by Tringbox. This round brings us closer to building a global speaker network that understands people, places, and moments in real time.”
Chawla brings more than eight years of experience in product development, analytics and growth strategy. Prior to launching Tringbox, he worked in analytics consulting at Ernst & Young, led growth strategy and analytics at Amazon MX Player, and most recently served as General Manager at Paytm.
For multi-location brands, Tringbox positions itself as more than a background music provider. The platform functions as an enterprise-grade music intelligence layer, enabling businesses to manage in-store music consistently across hundreds or even thousands of locations.
The system allows brands to maintain a uniform musical identity across outlets, monitor playback through a centralised dashboard and receive alerts whenever music stops playing at a particular location. It also manages loudness and volume balancing automatically, ensuring that heavily produced tracks do not disrupt the desired ambience within a venue.
By reducing reliance on manual playlist management, staff intervention and music licensing complexities, Tringbox aims to help businesses focus on customer experience while the platform manages the music environment end to end.
The company’s technology platform is led by Chief Technology Officer Badal Desai, who brings more than a decade of experience working with global technology companies in Canada across music systems, audio engineering and applied artificial intelligence.
According to Desai, Tringbox’s multimodal AI system operates at the audio-signal level, interpreting musical characteristics such as tempo, rhythmic patterns, loudness dynamics, spectral balance and harmonic stability. These insights are combined with real-time contextual data to create adaptive music environments across sectors including retail, hospitality, fitness, wellness and healthcare.
For example, a gym may require energetic music to encourage movement and motivation, while a clinic or wellness centre may benefit from calmer soundscapes designed to reduce stress. Similarly, cafés, retail stores and hotel lobbies may require music that promotes comfort, conversation and longer customer dwell times.
The company uses high-quality royalty-free audio specifically designed for commercial ambience and environmental modulation rather than entertainment-focused listening.
Alongside its in-store music intelligence platform, Tringbox also operates a consumer-facing music interaction platform that enables guests to request songs through QR codes placed within restaurants, bars, clubs and entertainment venues.
The company’s AI-powered Vibe Check system assesses whether song requests align with a venue’s music policy, audience profile, time of day and overall atmosphere before approval.
The venue solution is integrated with DJs, singers, karaoke hosts and performers through the Tringbox Partner App, allowing venues to deliver a more interactive music experience while maintaining control over the environment.
The model also creates additional revenue opportunities for venues and performers through song requests, tips and premium features such as skip-the-queue options, while ensuring businesses retain control of the overall music experience.
India is home to millions of commercial establishments, including retail outlets, cafés, restaurants, salons, gyms, clinics and hotels. Tringbox estimates that more than one million of these venues represent a near-term opportunity for intelligent music infrastructure.
With the fresh funding, the company plans to accelerate product development, expand its intelligent speaker network and increase deployments across premium venues throughout India.
Tringbox ultimately aims to become the default operating system for in-store music and commercial sound environments worldwide.
