Ronan Keating to perform at MTV Immies 2005
MUMBAI: MTV Immies 2005, which will be held on 9 December in Mumbai, will have performances by the international pop singer Ronan Keating. Also gracing the occasion will be Pakistani superstar Ali Zafar.
The awards will be simulcast on MTV and Sony Entertainment Television on 17 December.
MTV is dedicating the show towards the victims of the earthquake that recently shook Kashmir and areas of Pakistan.
Musicians and performers will come together to pledge their support towards the rehabilitation of the quake victims. The Indian Idols, along with the newly crowned Fame Jodi, will also perform.
At the event, the other live acts will include performances by Sanjay Dutt and John Abraham with the Pakistani duo Strings as part of the promotion for their new film Zinda.
Also livening up the stage will be Bipasha Basu with performance of her 2005 hit songs. Further, Shankar Mahadevan and Alisha Chinai are sure to light up the venue with their spectacular jugalbandi on Kajraa re which is lined up as the opening act.
The awards will be in various categories covering film, pop, international, ghazal, devotional and more.
The show will be hosted by Celina Jaitely and Lara Dutta along with Ali Zafar and MTV’s Cyrus Broacha.
The tickets for MTV Immies (in the denominations of Rs 1000 and RS 2000) are available at all Planet M outlets, The Rhythm House and St. Andrews Auditorium. The proceeds of the show will be given to the prime minister’s relief fund.
MTV Networks India senior VP creative and content Cyrus Oshidar said, “When it comes to making a difference to people’s life, MTV has always led from the front be it our Music Summit for AIDS or MTV Immies for quake relief. And we do this in a manner that’s a uniquely MTV educating people white entertaining them.”
Oshidar further added, “People’s memories are short so this is our way of bringing the focus back to the issue. And we are sure many others will join this already colossal effort in making this fund raiser truly successful.”
