HBO looking to launch in six more regions

MUMBAI: HBO is looking to expand its reach globally. It is looking to launch in France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Japan and the UK.
In India HBO celebrated five years of existence last year. 
Reports indicate that in the UK HBO could provide competition to Channel 4 which has had success airing American shows. Of course HBO already has ties with Britain. It co-produced the epic series Rome with BBC Worldwide.
At the Oxford Media Convention a few days ago HBO Intl CEO Simon Sutton said that the channel is looking to new media for further growth. This could mean offering shows for internet downloads.
