MUMBAI: India’s media and entertainment industry is set to converge in Mumbai as the 26th edition of FICCI FRAMES returns on 29 and 30 September, bringing together actors, creators, business leaders and policymakers to discuss the sector’s next phase.

The two-day convention will be held at the Grand Hyatt, Mumbai, under the theme ‘India’s Media Moment: Creating Value in an Age of Infinite Content’. The discussions will focus on how India’s expanding connected audience can translate the abundance of content across television, streaming, films, sports, gaming, live events and the creator economy into sustainable value.

The inaugural session will feature FICCI president Anant Goenka, FICCI Media & Entertainment Committee chair and JioStar CEO, Entertainment Kevin Vaz, and FICCI FRAMES ambassador Ayushmann Khurrana.

Vaz said the rapid evolution of storytelling and multi-screen consumption has made it important for the industry to examine its transformation from both creative and commercial perspectives.

FICCI FRAMES 2026 will feature a line-up of actors and creators including Ajay Devgn, Ayushmann Khurrana, Rajkummar Rao, Rupali Ganguly, Ravi Kishan, Sunita Rajwar and Ranveer Brar.

Filmmakers Ashutosh Gowariker, Shoojit Sircar and Richie Mehta will also participate in the convention.

One of the key cinematic sessions will focus on the Drishyam franchise, featuring actor Ajay Devgn, director Abhishek Pathak and producers Kumar Mangat Pathak of Panorama Studios and Alok Jain of JioStar.

Another discussion will examine the next generation of Indian cinema with Rajkummar Rao and filmmaker Dinesh Vijan. The event will also feature a screening of an episode from Amazon Prime Video’s Dupahiya 2.

The business tracks will bring together senior executives from across television, streaming, sports and digital media.

Participants include JioStar CEO, Entertainment Kevin Vaz, Zee Entertainment Enterprises managing director and CEO Punit Goenka, Sony Pictures Networks India managing director and CEO Gaurav Banerjee, NDTV CEO and editor-in-chief Rahul Kanwal, JioStar CEO, Sports Ishan Chatterjee, Amazon Prime Video vice president and head, Prime Video, Asia Pacific & Australia-New Zealand Gaurav Gandhi, Warner Bros. Discovery managing director, South Asia Arjun Nowhar, ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta and Meta India managing director Arun Srinivas.

Producers Ekta Kapoor, Vipul Shah and Guneet Monga, along with studio head Apoorva Mehta, content producer Deepak Dhar, and streaming executives Monika Shergill and Nikhil Madhok, are also among the participants.

Companies and platforms including JioStar, Zee Entertainment Enterprises, Sony Pictures, Saregama, TVF, Emmay Entertainment, Pocket FM and Kuku Group will participate alongside industry bodies such as the Producers Guild of India, MPA India and the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce.

Educational institutions including the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies and Whistling Woods International will also be part of the convention.

FICCI FRAMES has grown alongside India’s media and entertainment industry, providing a platform for discussions around formal industry status, institutional finance, digitisation, anti-piracy, AVGC-XR, artificial intelligence and copyright.

Its initiatives include the annual FICCI-EY Media & Entertainment Report and the Best Animated FRAMES (BAF) Awards, instituted in 2004 to recognise talent across animation, VFX, gaming, comics and XR.

The Frame Your Idea (FYI) initiative, launched in 2015, has facilitated more than 5,000 curated meetings between emerging writers and producers or platforms.

According to the FICCI-EY Media & Entertainment Report released in March 2026, India’s media and entertainment sector grew 9 per cent in 2025 to Rs 2.78 lakh crore and directly employed around 2.75 million people. The sector is projected to reach Rs 3.3 lakh crore by 2028.

With technology, platform economics and audience behaviour continuing to reshape entertainment, FICCI FRAMES 2026 will focus on the evolving economics of content, live sports broadcasting, the relationship between streaming and linear television, and emerging approaches to content monetisation.
