MUMBAI: Shagun Seda is about to give Apple India a fresh byte of creative brilliance and the marketing world is already buzzing. In a notable leadership shift in India’s media and marketing scene, Shagun Seda is set to join Apple India as Head of Marketing Communications, according to industry sources. The move comes shortly after her exit from JioStar, where she served as Senior Vice President, leading marketing creative strategy and communications for the media powerhouse born from the Viacom18-Star India merger.

With over 22 years of experience blending sharp storytelling with business impact, Seda brings a proven track record of crafting culturally resonant campaigns. At JioStar, she played a pivotal role in shaping the brand architecture of the Reliance-Disney joint venture and drove communication strategies across a vast portfolio spanning sports and entertainment. Her efforts covered marquee properties including the Indian Premier League, ICC tournaments, Pro Kabaddi League, Wimbledon, and the Olympic Games.

One standout achievement was her contribution to the marketing push for IPL 2025, which drew near-record viewership nearing a billion across platforms. She also spearheaded immersive experiences such as the livestream of Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres tour in India and digital-first cultural broadcasts that boosted connected TV engagement.

Before JioStar, Seda joined Viacom18 in early 2023 after a successful stint at Netflix India, where as Head of Brand, Film and Series Marketing she sharpened the platform’s local appeal with impactful campaigns for global hits like Money Heist and Stranger Things. Her earlier career includes senior creative roles at top agencies such as DDB Mudra Group, TBWA India, and MullenLowe Lintas Group.

This appointment signals Apple’s continued push to strengthen brand storytelling and consumer engagement in one of its fastest-growing markets. In an industry where technology meets culture, Seda’s knack for turning big ideas into emotional connections is expected to add fresh sparkle to Apple’s iconic communication style.

From building blockbuster sports narratives to making global entertainment feel deeply Indian, Seda has consistently turned screens into cultural moments. Now, as she switches from JioStar’s expansive media canvas to Apple’s sleek ecosystem, the stage is set for some truly innovative marketing magic in India. The tech giant just gained a storyteller who knows how to make brands not just seen, but truly felt.

MUMBAI: In India’s fast-moving payments race, Visa has just swiped in a new leader. The company has named Suresh Sethi as its India country head, marking a key leadership shift as it sharpens its focus on digital payments growth in the market. Sethi steps into the role following his recent exit from Protean eGov Technologies, where he served as chief executive officer. He succeeds Sandeep Ghosh, who has moved on after more than four years at Visa to pursue an external opportunity.

The appointment comes at a time when Visa is doubling down on its expansion strategy across India and the wider region, deepening partnerships and accelerating adoption in an increasingly competitive digital payments ecosystem.

Sethi brings with him a broad, cross-market perspective shaped by decades of experience across corporate banking, retail financial services, mobile money and large-scale government technology initiatives. He began his career at Citigroup, where he spent 14 years working across India, Africa, South America and the United States, focusing on transaction banking services within the corporate bank.

His appointment signals a blend of institutional experience and market familiarity qualities that could prove critical as Visa navigates a landscape where fintech innovation, regulatory evolution and consumer adoption are all accelerating at once.

As digital payments in India continue to scale rapidly, the leadership change underscores a simple reality, in a market where every tap, scan and swipe counts, who leads the charge can matter just as much as the technology itself.
