Paytm elevates Saurabh Agrawal to vice president after four-year growth journey
Fintech executive climbs leadership ranks as Paytm strengthens business expansion
BENGALURU: Climbing the corporate ladder one rung at a time, Saurabh Agrawal has been promoted to vice president (business) at Paytm, capping a four-year rise through the company’s sales and business leadership ranks.
Agrawal announced the promotion on LinkedIn, describing the opportunity to help scale the business and expand Paytm’s market footprint as an “incredible experience”. He also thanked Ankit Goyal for his mentorship and support throughout the journey.
“I’m happy to share that I’ve been promoted to Vice President (VP – Business) at Paytm,” Agrawal wrote, adding that he is excited for the challenges ahead.
The promotion recognises Agrawal’s contribution to sales growth, business development and market expansion across multiple functions at the fintech major. Since rejoining Paytm in February 2022, he has steadily progressed through a series of leadership roles, serving as deputy general manager-sales, general manager-sales, associate vice president I, associate vice president II, and now vice president.
His latest elevation comes after a year as associate vice president II, a role he assumed in June 2025. Over the course of his tenure, Agrawal has been involved in strengthening customer-focused sales strategies and building teams across key markets.
Before his current stint, Agrawal also spent nearly two years at Paytm between 2017 and 2019, first as manager and later as senior manager.
Prior to returning to Paytm, he served as associate director-sales at BlackBuck, where he worked on sales growth and customer acquisition initiatives. He also held the position of senior director-sales and business development at UrbanPro, leading a team of around 60 sales professionals across field and telesales operations.
According to his professional profile, Agrawal helped UrbanPro scale its business significantly, reporting a more than threefold increase in revenue and gross merchandise value while expanding team size and introducing customer-centric sales processes.
Earlier in his career, he spent three years with Reliance General Insurance as regional business manager, overseeing corporate sales across southern India. During that period, he focused on business development, partnerships and client acquisition, contributing to substantial growth in premiums and margins.
An MBA graduate from SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Agrawal has built a career spanning fintech, insurance, logistics and edtech sectors.
His promotion comes as Paytm continues to sharpen its focus on scaling financial services and merchant offerings, with experienced business leaders playing a key role in driving the company’s next phase of growth.
