MUMBAI: From blushes to blockbusters, Shikha Kohli has made quite the career switch, and now she is adding another streaming giant to her CV. Netflix has appointed Shikha Kohli as manager, social marketing in India.

Kohli announced the move on LinkedIn, describing the new role as an opportunity to move from watching stories to helping make them part of the wider cultural conversation. She has taken charge of social marketing at Netflix after spending nearly two years with Prime Video, where she worked on title marketing.

“Why play in culture when you can help shape it?” Kohli wrote while announcing her new role, adding that she was excited to work with the Netflix team.

Kohli joined Netflix in July 2026, according to her LinkedIn profile. She is based in India and is working in a hybrid role focused on social and digital media marketing.

Her move to Netflix follows a stint at Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios from November 2024 to July 2026, where she handled social media marketing for titles.

During her time at Prime Video, Kohli worked on campaigns around titles including Panchayat, The Family Man, Dupahiya and The Boys. Reflecting on the move in an earlier LinkedIn post, she described her transition from beauty marketing to entertainment as a leap into unfamiliar territory, but said the experience had exposed her to some of the world’s biggest entertainment IPs.

Before moving into streaming, Kohli spent more than three years at Nykaa. She joined the company as associate manager, marketing and communications in October 2021 and later became manager, marketing and communications, serving as social media lead.

Her earlier career also spans media and branded content. At Times Network, she worked as producer, branded content solutions, from November 2018 to October 2021. Her responsibilities included developing and producing fashion, beauty and lifestyle content, working with sales teams on branded-content properties and creating content for partner brands.

Kohli began her career in editorial, working as junior editor, fashion and beauty, at Fork Media Group’s Hauterfly between March and November 2018. Her role covered editorial content, social media, fashion shoots and branded-content initiatives.

Her career has therefore moved across editorial, fashion and beauty, branded content, consumer marketing and entertainment, before arriving at Netflix’s social marketing team.

The new role puts that mix of content and marketing experience into a streaming environment where social platforms have become an important part of how entertainment titles build conversations and engage fandoms. For Kohli, the next chapter brings her experience in brand and entertainment campaigns together at one of the world’s largest streaming platforms.
