From footwear to fit Campus Activewear steps into athleisure wear
MUMBAI: If shoes built the stride, clothes are now setting the pace. Campus Activewear, one of India’s largest sports and athleisure footwear brands, has entered the athleisure apparel segment, marking a strategic expansion beyond sneakers into clothing designed for everyday movement. The move signals a natural extension of the brand’s long-running philosophy of youth-led self-expression, as Campus looks to broaden both its product portfolio and addressable market.
The new category reflects how young consumers increasingly blur the lines between work, workouts and downtime. Campus’ foray into apparel builds on its “Move Your Way” positioning, translating it from footwear into clothing that is designed to keep up with fluid lifestyles rather than fixed routines. It is a shift from being worn just on the feet to becoming part of the daily uniform.
The debut collection spans Polo T-shirts, round-neck T-shirts, jackets, jogger pants and caps for both men and women. Priced between Rs 599 and Rs 1,899, the range is positioned to tap a wide youth audience, balancing accessibility with everyday functionality. The designs focus on versatility, allowing pieces to travel easily from workouts to travel and casual social settings.
Functionality is central to the line. The apparel features anti-odour and anti-microbial properties for all-day wear, alongside two-way stretch fabrics aimed at comfort and unrestricted movement. Clean silhouettes, contemporary colour palettes and understated styling underline Campus’ intent to keep the range wearable rather than trend-chasing.
Explaining the thinking behind the launch, Campus Activewear whole time director and CEO Nikhil Aggarwal said the entry into athleisure apparel is a strategic business decision to drive incremental revenues from the brand’s existing consumer base. He added that the expansion remains anchored to Campus’ core philosophy of movement and self-expression, while responding to evolving consumer needs.
The athleisure apparel line is now available across Campus exclusive brand outlets, the company’s D2C website, and leading e-commerce platforms including Amazon and Myntra, ensuring pan-India reach from day one.
For Campus, the move is less about chasing fashion cycles and more about deepening relevance in the everyday lives of young Indians. By stepping into apparel, the brand is making a clear statement: movement is no longer just about where you go, but how you show up while getting there.
