MUMBAI: Every sibling knows that the quickest route to “I love you” is often through “You’re so annoying”. Cadbury Celebrations is leaning into that familiar family script this Raksha Bandhan, turning playful squabbles into the centrepiece of its latest festive campaign while refreshing its gifting portfolio to tap India’s growing appetite for premium presents.

Mondelez India’s gifting brand Cadbury Celebrations has unveiled a revamped Raksha Bandhan portfolio alongside a new campaign titled #ThisTakraarIsSweet, celebrating the teasing, banter and everyday moments that define sibling relationships.

The campaign film captures the light-hearted chaos of sibling life, pairing nostalgic scenes with a reimagined rendition of the classic song Phoolon Ka Taaron Ka. Rather than focusing on grand gestures, the film spotlights harmless pranks, constant leg-pulling and playful arguments as expressions of affection, positioning Raksha Bandhan as a celebration of authentic family bonds.

Alongside the campaign, Cadbury Celebrations has refreshed its festive range with redesigned gold-accented packaging, new gifting formats, chocolate-coated dry fruits in contemporary jars and an expanded assortment aimed at different spending levels.

The portfolio spans products priced from under Rs 100 to premium gifting options ranging between Rs 250 and Rs 575. The line-up includes Celebrations assorted chocolate packs, Silk Selections, Bournville Selections and Rich Dry Fruits jars, reflecting the growing demand for more personalised and premium festive gifting.

The campaign also reflects a broader shift in festive marketing, with brands increasingly moving beyond product promotions to tell emotionally relatable stories rooted in everyday relationships.

To maximise reach, Cadbury Celebrations is rolling out an integrated media strategy spanning television, digital platforms, social media, influencers, e-commerce and in-store activations. The brand is also using creator-led content to help consumers choose gifting options tailored to different sibling personalities, as it looks to position Cadbury Celebrations as a more thoughtful purchase rather than a last-minute festive buy.

As brands compete harder for festive spending, Cadbury’s latest Raksha Bandhan push suggests that in the gifting business, it is not just the chocolate that needs to be sweet—the story behind it matters just as much.
