Asian Paints celebrates Independence Day with 5,000-plus colours campaign
5000+ Colours of Freedom’ campaign links the Tricolour with individuality
MUMBAI: Freedom comes in more than three colours. This Independence Day, Asian Paints is moving beyond the familiar saffron, white and green to celebrate the thousands of shades that make Indian homes as individual as the people living in them, with its latest print campaign, ‘5000+ Colours of Freedom’.
The campaign brings together a visual collage of homes from across India, with three homes rendered in the colours of the Tricolour using Asian Paints’ colour swatches. The idea is built around the message, “Yeh Rang Hi Humara Asli Pata Hai”, suggesting that the colours people choose for their homes can say more about their identity than an address ever could.
The campaign builds on Asian Paints’ ‘The Colours of India’ initiative from last year, which used a curated palette of shades to bring the Tricolour to life. This time, the brand shifts the spotlight from the three colours that represent the nation to more than 5,000 shades that represent the individuality of its people.
At the centre of the campaign are the three colours of the Indian flag, representing shared values and national pride, alongside the 5,000-plus shades offered by Asian Paints. The contrast is intended to underline the idea that unity and self-expression can sit comfortably on the same colour palette.
For Asian Paints, the campaign also draws on its more than eight decades in the Indian market and its extensive colour portfolio. The company said its shades are backed by the Asian Paints Warranty, combining colour choice with long-lasting protection.
Amit Syngle, Managing Director and CEO, Asian Paints, said India’s diversity is reflected in the millions of identities, stories and aspirations expressed through homes and spaces.
“Every colour tells a story, and together, these stories create the vibrant fabric of India,” Syngle said, adding that the campaign celebrates the freedom to choose, express and create spaces that reflect individual identities.
The campaign also positions colour as a bridge between national identity and personal expression. While the Tricolour represents what brings Indians together, the wider palette represents the different personalities, aspirations and choices that give each home its own character.
The campaign will appear across leading national and regional newspapers, alongside digital extensions, during the Independence Day period. With ‘5000+ Colours of Freedom’, Asian Paints is turning a familiar Independence Day visual into a broader celebration of the colours Indians choose to call their own.
