Wagh joins the commercial and production team after a stint at JioStar
MUMBAI: Amrish Wagh has returned to Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited as senior manager, commercial, production.
Wagh announced the move on LinkedIn, saying he was “thrilled” to join Zee Entertainment after his previous stint with JioStar. He will focus on commercial and production responsibilities at Zee.
In his new role, Wagh said he aims to work on structuring sharper deals, strengthening commercial frameworks and improving production economics.
Wagh thanked Pankaj Suroliya and Nikhil Tiku for giving him the opportunity to join the team.
Before returning to Zee, Wagh was commercial manager at JioStar, where he worked on project commercials for the Youth Music & English entertainment vertical and digital channel Sparks. His responsibilities included budgeting, production planning, negotiations and commercial closures across fiction, non-fiction, on-air promotions and branded content.
He also worked closely with internal teams, production houses and vendors, overseeing commercial and operational parameters across productions.
Wagh’s earlier career includes a stint at Zee Entertainment between 2016 and 2018, when he served as supervising producer for advertiser-funded programmes and execution, production controller and manager. In that role, he handled budgeting, scheduling and execution for advertiser-funded programmes and on-air visual promos.
He also worked as supervising producer at Arré, where he handled web series, audio podcasts and short-format content, including project budgets, schedules, production execution and vendor negotiations.
Earlier, Wagh was assistant production executive at Connect.1, the digital arm of Mukta Arts.
Wagh holds a postgraduate certification in digital marketing and communication from MICA, which he completed in 2021.
His return to Zee marks a move back to a company where he previously spent more than two years, this time taking on a role focused squarely on the commercial side of production as the media business continues to balance creative ambition with tighter economics.
