Akash Vadera named marketing director for Tadka at JioStar
Eight-year growth marketer moves from Dream11 to lead the entertainment brand’s charge
MUMBAI: Akash Vadera has taken over as marketing director for Tadka at JioStar, bringing eight years of growth-marketing hustle to a brand that will need every bit of it.
Vadera arrives fresh from Dream11, where he spent just over a year as brand marketing manager and social media lead, sharpening his instincts in one of India’s most competitive, attention-hungry categories. Before that, he was content lead at Sagarcasm, and earlier still, digital marketing manager at Jio itself for a three-year stretch, giving him a working knowledge of the very ecosystem he now returns to. His CV also carries a stint as trade marketing manager at Raymond Consumer Care and an early SEO role at WebSmith Technologies, the kind of grassroots grounding that tends to produce marketers who understand both the boardroom and the shop floor.
Across those roles, Vadera has built a track record in social media marketing, brand management, trade marketing and content creation, with a particular knack, colleagues say, for driving revenue through large-scale campaigns rather than just running them.
At Tadka, he inherits a brand still finding its footing in a crowded entertainment and content space, and JioStar will be counting on his growth-marketing pedigree to give it real cut-through.
From trade marketing shop floors to Dream11’s fantasy-sports frenzy, Vadera’s path has been anything but linear, and that is precisely the point. Tadka now gets a marketer who has done the hard yards everywhere except sitting still.
