As ChatGPT and Gemini replace Google as the first stop for homebuyers, a Chennai developer moves early to control the narrative

GURUGRAM: Search, as the world has known it for two decades, is quietly being dismantled, and the brands smart enough to notice are already repositioning. Casagrand, one of India’s leading real estate developers, has appointed AdLift to deploy its proprietary AI Search Visibility platform, Tesseract, in a bid to strengthen its footprint across the large language models now shaping how consumers actually research big-ticket purchases. This is not a conventional SEO mandate, it is a wager on where discovery is headed next.

The logic is sound and increasingly unavoidable. Homebuyers no longer restrict their research to a Google search bar and a scroll through listings, they are asking ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity to compare developers, summarise reputations and recommend options outright. Whoever controls how a brand is represented inside those AI-generated answers effectively controls a large slice of the consideration funnel before a customer ever visits a website. Casagrand, a developer with more than 180 landmark projects, over 55,000 families housed and 88 million square feet delivered since its founding in 2003, clearly does not intend to leave that representation to chance.

Puri, the co-founder and chief executive of AdLift, framed the mandate as forward positioning rather than reactive defence. “Casagrand has always embraced innovation to create better experiences for its customers, and we’re delighted to be part of that journey,” he said. “The brands that will lead tomorrow are the ones preparing for tomorrow’s consumer behaviour today. As AI becomes a key part of how people research, compare and make decisions, understanding visibility across these platforms is becoming increasingly important. Through Tesseract, we look forward to helping Casagrand unlock meaningful insights and build a stronger presence across the evolving AI search ecosystem.”

Chaudhuri, Casagrand’s chief marketing officer, echoed the same instinct from the client side. “At Casagrand, we’re constantly looking at how technology can help us stay closer to our customers and evolve with changing consumer behaviour,” he said. “As AI becomes an increasingly important part of the discovery journey, understanding how our brand is represented across these platforms is a valuable step forward. We believe AdLift’s expertise and the capabilities of Tesseract will help us navigate this evolving landscape while strengthening our digital presence.”

What makes this mandate notable is timing rather than novelty. Real estate remains one of the most research-heavy purchase categories in existence, and developers who establish strong, accurate AI representation now stand to enjoy a compounding advantage as generative search tools become the default research layer for millions of buyers. For AdLift, the Casagrand engagement adds another marquee name to a growing roster of brands betting on AI search intelligence, and it reinforces a broader shift already underway across Indian marketing, one where visibility inside a chatbot’s answer is fast becoming as valuable as a page-one Google ranking once was.
