Star Plus unveils music video for India Ke Top 1% with Anil Kapoor
Ganesh Acharya choreographs Qawwali anthem ahead of September 19 show launch
MUMBAI: The competition is getting a musical kick, as Star Plus turns up the volume on India Ke Top 1% – The Anil Kapoor Show with a new Qawwali-led music video.
Following the show’s teaser over the weekend, the channel has unveiled the full music video featuring Anil Kapoor, adding a foot-tapping soundtrack to the build-up for the new quiz and entertainment format.
Kapoor said the Qawwali reflects the show’s energetic spirit and its premise of bringing together 100 contestants to test their everyday thinking on one stage. He also described performing Qawwali for the first time as a new experience and said the performance was designed to match the show’s distinctive personality.
The music video brings together Kapoor and choreographer Ganesh Acharya, who has given the track its dance-driven treatment. The collaboration adds another layer to the show’s growing promotional campaign around its tagline, ‘Baat Khatki Toh Jeet Pakki’.
India Ke Top 1% is produced by Banijay Asia and will premiere on September 19 at 8 pm on Star Plus and JioHotstar.
With 100 contestants, Anil Kapoor at the helm and now a Qawwali to get the party started, Star Plus is clearly betting that this competition will have audiences thinking and tapping their feet in equal measure.
