Spykar to add 100 stores in 2 years, taking network beyond 380 outlets
Denim brand bets big on Tier 2 and 3 markets amid offline retail revival
MUMBAI: Denim is making a strong comeback to the high street as Spykar sharpens its offline retail ambitions. The homegrown fashion brand has unveiled plans to add 100 new stores across India over the next two years, taking its total retail footprint to more than 380 outlets nationwide.
The expansion comes as the company strengthens its presence in both established urban markets and emerging consumption centres, with a particular focus on larger malls and premium high streets.
As part of the latest phase of growth, Spykar has launched new stores in Ghaziabad, Vizag, Simdega and Darbhanga. The brand has also expanded its presence at prominent shopping destinations including Lakeshore Mall in Hyderabad, Inorbit Mall in Vizag and Ansa Mall in Ghaziabad.
The move reflects a broader trend in India’s retail landscape, where fashion brands are increasingly investing in physical stores despite the continued growth of online shopping. Industry observers point to rising consumer spending, growing fashion awareness and increasing demand for premium retail experiences as key drivers behind the resurgence of brick-and-mortar expansion.
Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, once considered secondary markets, are now emerging as important growth engines for fashion and lifestyle brands. Improved infrastructure, higher disposable incomes and evolving consumer aspirations have transformed shopping habits across these regions, creating fresh opportunities for organised retail players.
Commenting on the expansion plans, Spykar Lifestyle co-founder and chief executive officer Sanjay Vakharia said the company has witnessed a significant increase in offline retail activity across sectors this year.
“Despite access to digital mediums, the look and feel of products and experience of shopping remains desirable,” he said, adding that the company’s growth strategy is focused on delivering a more immersive and elevated shopping experience to consumers across India.
The newly launched stores showcase Spykar’s evolving retail identity, blending a more contemporary and premium aesthetic with the brand’s youthful positioning. The outlets have been designed to offer more than just a shopping destination, creating a lifestyle-focused environment where customers can engage with the brand’s wider fashion universe.
The stores feature curated layouts and enhanced visual merchandising aimed at improving customer navigation and product discovery. Alongside its signature denim collections, shoppers can explore a broader portfolio of casualwear and fashion-led apparel designed for India’s young and style-conscious consumers.
Spykar’s expansion plans arrive at a time when retailers are increasingly balancing digital convenience with experiential shopping. As consumers continue to seek touch-and-feel experiences before making purchase decisions, physical stores remain a critical touchpoint in the customer journey.
With 100 new outlets in the pipeline and a growing presence in both metro and emerging markets, Spykar is positioning itself to capture the next wave of fashion demand while reinforcing its status as one of India’s leading denim-first lifestyle brands.
