NEW DELHI: NDTV is sharpening its commercial edge. The broadcaster has appointed Gaurav Mehrraa as revenue head, brand studio, NDTV Hindi and Regionals, signalling a deliberate push to build stronger, more integrated brand partnerships across its Hindi and regional platforms.

Mehrraa brings over two decades of experience spanning branded content, media sales, growth strategy and bespoke marketing. He joins from TV9 Network, where he served as national head and vice president, leading content-driven growth across broadcast and digital. Before that, he held senior roles at Network18 Group, Zee Entertainment Enterprises, Reliance Broadcast Network, CNBC-TV18, Idea Cellular and Vodafone India, a CV that covers nearly every major node in India’s media and telecom landscape.

His track record in branded content is specific and substantial. Campaigns he has led include the Castrol Super Mechanic Contest, Mahindra Unlimit Bharat, Sensodyne Oral Health Awareness, Samsung campaigns, Castrol Pragati Ki Paathshaala and Ultratech Baat Ghar Ki, work that spans editorial integration, digital, influencer and on-ground activations.

Mehrraa is an alumnus of DAV College Amritsar and the Faculty of Management Studies.

Rahul Kanwal, chief executive and editor-in-chief of NDTV, said Mehrraa’s understanding of brands, markets and content-led revenue would add significant strength to the network’s growth journey as it expands its Hindi and regional footprint.

Rahul Shaw, chief experiences officer of NDTV, was equally direct. “Gaurav’s appointment reflects our focus on bringing in revenue leaders who combine market experience with collaboration, creativity, and strong execution,” he said.

Mehrraa himself struck a purposeful note. “NDTV is one of India’s most respected and credible media brands across languages and platforms. I am excited to join the team and build brand solutions that combine trust, storytelling and measurable impact for our partners,” he said.

For NDTV, which has been steadily building out its regional presence, getting the brand studio revenue engine right is not optional. Mehrraa has spent twenty years learning exactly how that engine works. Now he gets to run it.
