Divya Chawla elevated to associate vice president at Sony Pictures Networks India
After more than a decade at the company, SonyLIV’s north and east sales head moves up the ranks
MUMBAI: Divya Chawla is moving up. Sony Pictures Networks India has promoted her to associate vice president, capping a tenure of over eleven years at the company that has taken her from assistant manager to one of its senior commercial leaders.
Chawla joined Sony in December 2014 as assistant manager for ad sales on Sony Pix. She progressed steadily through the ranks, taking on a manager role in advertisement sales before pivoting to digital advertising sales and monetisation at SonyLIV in May 2022. Most recently, she has served as region head for north and east at SonyLIV’s SME vertical, based out of Gurugram.
In a post announcing the promotion, Chawla said she had spent the past four years contributing to SonyLIV’s growth “during a defining phase for India’s OTT ecosystem,” building advertising partnerships and driving what she described as “innovation-led solutions.” She credited her leadership, colleagues, clients and partners for their trust and collaboration.
Before Sony, Chawla spent nearly two years at Star India as an executive in ad sales on Star World, and prior to that, a year at Business Standard in an advertisement officer role. She holds an MBA in marketing and international business from Amity Business School.
Eleven years at one company is a statement in an industry that rarely stops moving. For Chawla, the promotion suggests the next chapter is only just beginning.
