MUMBAI: On 27 February, the Grande Hall at NESCO in Goregaon, Mumbai, will host one of the most strategically significant gatherings in India’s broadcast and broadband ecosystem, the 22nd edition of the Video Broadcast and Broadband Tech Summit 2026.

At a time when convergence is no longer aspirational but operational, this year’s theme, Managing The Great Tech-celeration, captures both urgency and responsibility. Broadcast, telecom, satellite, OTT, advertising and technology leaders will come together to examine how infrastructure, monetisation models and audience engagement strategies are evolving in an increasingly hybrid environment.

The evolving agenda reflects the scale of transformation underway, from IP-led distribution and AI-powered workflows to immersive sports experiences and intelligent advertising systems.

Framing the regulatory and structural shift
The summit opens with an introduction by Anil Wanvari, founder and editor-in-chief of Indian Television Dot Com, followed by a keynote address from Ashok Kumar Jha, principal advisor for broadcast and cable services at TRAI. With regulatory frameworks playing a crucial role in shaping market dynamics, the opening address is expected to set the tone for discussions on scale, sustainability and compliance.

Re-architecting distribution
One of the summit’s central conversations will focus on the evolving distribution network. Leaders such as Anil Malhotra of Zee, Ajit Pratap Singh of Airtel, Nishtha Kapoor of Eutelsat OneWeb and Kunal Bajaj of CloudExtel will join other senior executives to examine how satellite, fibre, 5G and IP networks are being aligned to deliver reach without sacrificing profitability.

Moderated by Sonica Bajaj, partner, TMT, KPMG, the discussion is expected to move beyond technology adoption and focus on operational integration and long-term resilience .

The newsroom in transition
Technology’s impact on editorial ecosystems forms another critical pillar of the summit. Speakers including Govindraj Ethiraj, editor of The Core; Nilesh Khare, coo of Sakal Media Group; and Manoj Padmanabhan, head, business, media and entertainment of AWS India, will discuss how AI, automation and data strategies are reshaping newsroom economics while trust remains non-negotiable .

Automation and the content supply chain

Sports, fandom and monetisation
With sports emerging as a year-round engagement engine, the summit dedicates significant attention to fan experience and platform strategy. A special address by Shubha Pai, head of brand solutions at Google India, will frame discussions around sustained engagement beyond marquee tournaments.

Industry leaders including Shishir Gupta, Siddharth Raman and senior marketing voices from brands and creator ecosystems will examine how fandom is being converted into scalable business models .

A fireside chat featuring Manoj Dobhal, ceo of Dish TV India, will add perspective from the DTH and distribution side at a time when legacy and digital platforms are increasingly intertwined.

Advertising in a converged ecosystem
The summit concludes with a forward-looking panel on advertising in a data-led, cross-platform environment. Leaders from L’Oréal India, Nuvama Group, WPP Media, Dentsu and JioAds will join Rahul Kapoor, vice president of partnerships at The Trade Desk, to discuss measurable intelligence, programmatic growth and unified strategy in a fragmented yet connected marketplace.

As India’s media economy accelerates into deeper convergence, the summit at NESCO positions itself as a serious alignment forum for those shaping infrastructure, content and monetisation strategy. Acceleration is inevitable. Managing it with clarity and cohesion will define the next phase of growth .
