Zee TV brings back Sa Re Ga Ma Pa with a 360 degree stage
New season features 100+ musicians and four musical Gurus, premieres 19 September
MUMBAI: The music is back in the room, and this time it is coming from every corner as Zee TV brings back its long-running reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa with a new season built around ‘Hindustan Ka Sangeetsthan’.
The 2026 edition will premiere on 19 September and air every Saturday and Sunday at 9:30 pm on Zee TV and Hindi Zee5. The broadcaster unveiled the new season at a media press conference in Mumbai, where journalists were also given a first look at the show’s new set through a Virtual Reality experience.
Nearly three decades after its debut, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa is returning with an attempt to make the television stage feel more like a live musical spectacle. The new set features a 360-degree stage, while the show brings together more than 100 musicians and an expansive chorus ensemble.
The scale is a significant departure from the conventional singing reality show setup, with the format placing Indian musical traditions and live musicianship at the centre of its presentation. The season will explore music from different parts of the country through performances that bring together varied regional and musical influences.
The show has also assembled four musical Gurus for the season, Shankar Mahadevan, Kumar Sanu, Neeti Mohan and Javed Ali. Rather than limiting their role to judging performances, the quartet will guide contestants through the competition, drawing on their experience across different musical styles and careers.
Actor Shreyas Talpade will host the season.
The new identity of the show is anchored by ‘Hindustan Ka Sangeetsthan’, positioning the season as a dedicated world of music rather than simply another contest for singers. The idea brings together the artist, musicians and performances under one larger visual and musical universe.
For Zee TV, the return also builds on a property that has been part of its non-fiction portfolio for nearly three decades. The broadcaster has positioned the show’s continuing focus on authentic voices and musical talent as the foundation for its latest reinvention, while increasing the scale of the production.
The season is also set to stream on Hindi Zee5, giving the franchise a digital home alongside its television broadcast.
With a 360-degree stage, 100+ musicians, a four-member musical Guru panel and music drawn from across the country, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2026 is tuning its familiar formula for a bigger stage — while keeping the singers, rather than the spectacle, at the heart of the show.
