Sony AATH to premiere unscripted comedy cooking show Raandhuni Na Kaanduni

KOLKATA: Sony AATH is bringing food, celebrity banter and a generous helping of chaos to the small screen with its new unscripted comedy cooking show ‘Raandhuni Na Kaanduni’, hosted by actor Ankush Hazra.

The Bengali original will premiere on 3 October at 9:30 pm on Sony AATH and Sony LIV, bringing together familiar faces from Bengali entertainment in an unconventional kitchen setting.

The show features Kanchan Mullick, Sreemoyee Chattoraj, Iman Chakraborty, Rupanjana Mitra, Darshana Banik, Prerna Das, Ushasi Ray, Sushmit Mukherjee, RJ Sayan Ghosh, Anwesha Hazra and Soumitrisha Kundu. Chefs Doma Wong and Priyam will add their culinary expertise to the mix.

Sony AATH unveiled the show through an immersive ‘Kitchen Takeover’ in Kolkata, giving media and creators a preview of the food, challenges and celebrity chemistry that will drive the format.

Built around the idea of the ‘raandhunis’ meeting the ‘kaandunis’, the show puts its celebrity participants through cooking challenges where the recipes may not always go to plan, with the resulting mishaps forming part of the entertainment.

Ankush Hazra, host of Raandhuni Na Kaanduni, said the format stands apart by putting familiar personalities in an unfamiliar environment where their personalities can take over.

Chef Doma Wong said the show combines the joy of cooking with the people and laughter around food, with the kitchen set to produce both successful dishes and unexpected creations.

Sony YAY! and Sony AATH business head Ambesh Tiwari said the show marks an expansion of Sony AATH’s content proposition into original unscripted entertainment.

“Food and humour are both deeply rooted in Bengali culture and bringing them together with some of Bengal’s most familiar personalities gives us an opportunity to create a differentiated, locally relevant IP,” he said.

With the tagline ‘হাসির আঁচে জমবে রান্না’, which translates to the idea of laughter adding flavour to cooking, Raandhuni Na Kaanduni aims to turn the kitchen into a space where recipes are unpredictable, celebrity chemistry takes centre stage and every challenge can spiral into a ‘kaand’.

Raandhuni Na Kaanduni premieres on 3 October 2026 at 9:30 pm on Sony AATH and Sony LIV.
