Bijal Shah wins Rs 94 lakh, becomes first winner of Star Plus’ India Ke Top 1%

MUMBAI: Star Plus’ new game show India Ke Top 1% – The Anil Kapoor Show has crowned its first winner, with Bijal Shah taking home Rs 94 lakh in the show’s grand premiere.

Shah became the first contestant to win the show after keeping her composure and relying on her instincts through the game. She entered the competition alongside her husband, Neelay Mehta, who continued to cheer her on after his own journey came to an end.

Hosted by Anil Kapoor, India Ke Top 1% is built around the idea that success depends not only on what contestants know, but on how they think and respond under pressure.

Shah’s win also gives the new format a notable opening moment, with a woman claiming the show’s first-ever top prize.

Speaking about the victory, host Anil Kapoor said, “Bijal ne pehle hi episode mein dikha diya ki India Ke Top 1% tak pahunchne ke liye sirf presence of mind aur street-smart thinking chahiye. She was calm, alert and always on her toes.”

Kapoor added that Shah’s victory made the show’s opening particularly special, saying, “Bijal is our first-ever winner, and I am especially proud that this historic win belongs to a woman.”

For Shah, the Rs 94 lakh prize came with the added distinction of becoming the first winner of the new game show.

“Winning Rs 94 lakh and becoming the show’s first-ever winner still feels unreal. I focused on one question at a time and trusted myself,” she said.

Shah also credited her family for supporting her through the competition, saying she felt her late father’s blessings and her son Pranit’s luck were with her throughout the game.

The show’s opening episode has put its central proposition firmly in focus: contestants are challenged to rely on presence of mind, instinct and street-smart thinking rather than simply their store of knowledge.

With Shah becoming the first contestant to turn that approach into a Rs 94 lakh win, India Ke Top 1% has opened its run with a winner who has already become part of the show’s history.
