Zee Telugu to telecast dubbed version of ‘Sholay’

MUMBAI: Zee Telefilms’ Telugu channel Zee Telugu is unveiling its Telugu-dubbed Hindi films property with Sholay. The channel will telecast the blockbuster film on 28 August at 3:30 pm.
 
 

The channel will telecast the movie as part of its Sunday movie slot High Voltage Sunday. In this slot, Zee Telugu presently telecasts blockbuster Hollywood movies dubbed in Telugu.

Zee South head Ajay Kumar said, the channel’s plan was to bring popular Hindi movies also in the package. He said the Hindi movies would be sourced from the Zee Telefilms library.
 
 

Hindi movies — mainly from the action genre — generally do well in Telugu television when dubbed in Telugu. General entertainment channel Maa TV occasionally telecast Hindi movies dubbed in Telugu.
