Yash Raj Films’ ‘Hum Tum’ animation series to be based on boys Vs girls theme
MUMBAI: For the first time in Bollywood, cartoon characters from a feature film are going to be recreated on television.
The adorable Hum and Tum of the hit movie Hum Tum would soon find themselves enthralling all their young fans with an animation series on TV, taking the boys versus girls theme ahead to TV now.
Confirming the developments, Hum Tum ‘s director Kunal Kohli told Indiantelevision.com that Hum and Tum would be displaying their histrionics in a kid’s channel. He said they were in talks with the channels around.
Kohli said the series would be targeted at children and young audience. Yash Raj Films spokesperson refused to comment saying it is an early stage to talk.
The animation series will be developed by the Mumbai-based Kathaa Animation who originally created the characters for the film. Talking to Indiantelevision.com, Prakash Nambiar who heads Kathaa Animation said the idea to incorporate cartoon characters in the movie came from producer Aditya Chopra and director Kunal Kohli.
“Adi and Kunal wanted to use something innovative to take the story ahead. It was after the basic conceptualisation that I stepped in,” said Nambiar.
Katha Animation has been associating with Yash Raj Films since the last three years, handling the production company’s multimedia and DVD animation projects.
