MUMBAI: Star World’s new talk show Koffee With Karan, with Karan Johar as its host, will hit the small screen tomorrow – 19 November at 10 pm – with actors Shahrukh Khan and Kajol as the first guest couple.

The one hour show promises to bring together interesting pairs of Bollywood celebrities who will be interrogated by Johar until all their secrets are out, informs an official release. What works in Johar’s favour to get the desired answers to his questions is that all the guests on the show are his friends.

Every episode features a unique ‘celeb-combo’, exchanging banter and stimulating conversation for 60 minutes of unadulterated fun and teasing between friends.

Johar says, “Ever since I can remember, I always wanted to host a talk show. I wanted to interview two people instead of one, more on a two on one. It’s great that Star World gave me my own show. Since I share a close personal relationship with my guests, I had to strike a balance between being over cautious and over friendly. But the whole vibe of the show is fun and exciting! And when people see it, they will know that I have not spared by friends either.”

Some of the ‘celeb-combo’ apart from Shahrukh and Kajol are Rani Mukherjee and Kareena Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Sushmita Sen, Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta, Gauri Khan and Suzanne Roshan, Aishwarya and Sanjay Leela Bansali.

Star India COO Sameer Nair says, “At Star World we have always believed that it’s the innovation and creativity in our shows that sets us apart. Koffee with Karan is yet another such unique initiative in the channel’s basket, which will change the way people view chat shows. It’s got all the ingredients of success- a fabulous host; super star guests, fun, surprises, gossip just like a perfect blend of coffee to kickstart a perfect weekend!”

Apart from uncovering the other side of his guests, the show also features a host of unique elements such as the rapid fire round that reveals a lot of tongue-in-cheek moments like when Kareena is asked to choose between Shahid and Shahrukh and Rani asked to choose between Yash Chopra and Sanjay Leela Bansali. There are also other hidden surprise elements in the show for the celebrities, which will catch them unaware.
