SBI Mutual Fund’s stake in Crest crosses 5%

MUMBAI: SBI Mutual Fund’s stake in Crest Animation Studios Ltd has crossed five per cent with the acquisition of 125,000 shares on Monday.

The purchase was made in the open market. The deal was made between Rs 76 and Rs 80 per share.

SBI Mutual Fund’s holding in Crest Animation Studios is through its various schemes. “SBI’s holding has crossed five per cent with Monday’s purchase. This is through the Fund’s different schemes,” says a market source.

The promoters have 15.69 per cent stake in Crest, according to the shareholding declared on 31 December 2004. Mutual Funds and UTI hold 12.18 per cent stake in the company while foreign institutional investors (FIIs) have 3.45 per cent and private corporate bodies 16.34 equity. The other shareholders are Indian public with 33.62 per cent and Global Depository Receipts (GDRs) 18.04 per cent stake.

The scrip opened at Rs 77.05 on Monday, moved to a high of Rs 81.7 before closing at Rs 80.85.
