Samsung wins laurels at EISA awards for LCD TV, home cinema & portable media player
MUMBAI:The European imaging & sound association EISA award – Europe’s awards for video and audio devices has awarded Samsung as one of the best consumer electronics brand in Europe.
EISA, with a membership of 50 audio, mobile electronics, video and photo magazines drawn from 20 European countries, is an integral association in Europe. Samsung also has the distinction of having retained awards in three categories for the second year running.
Samsung’s 40″ LCD TV (LE40M61B) bagged an EISA award for its premium display technology in terms of contrast ratio (5000:1), color expression (6.44 billion colors, 92 per cent color gamut for NTSC) , viewing angle (178°) and response time (8 ms). Also the model’s design focuses the viewer’s attention on the screen. On the front of the minimalist design, the speakers are hidden from view in the bottom bezel to prevent distraction.
Samsung is the winner for the second year in a row in the home cinema system category. Its new Home Cinema System (HT-P1200) is the first to have a USB host play supporting moving picture” in an all-in-one home cinema system.
This enables easy connection with any kind of USB storage to the HT-P1200 and it will play DivX movie files, MP3 songs and JPEG image files at your command. The HT-P1200 also provides surround sound that wholly envelopes the listener in 360 degrees. The HT-P1200 is available in the Indian market for Rs 68,000.
Samsung’s YH-J70, voted best in the portable media player category by EISA, is an all-in-one personal entertainment device which comes with a gaming function and MPEG4 playback capability. This multimedia jukebox with a 1.8″ TFT LCD wears a compact size and has a high capacity 20/30GB hard disk drive which can hold up to 5,000/7,000 songs. The YH-J70 is priced at Rs 19,900 (with 20GB Hard Disc Drive) in the Indian market.
