MTV woos international music lovers
MUMBAI: MTV has churned out five music programmes for international music lovers to feast on: MTV Imported, MTV Live, MTV Hoopla, MTV Alert and MTV Graveyard Shift in Rock.
“MTV is and will remain the first, the best and the only choice for the hottest music. You don’t need a visa to check out the newest international artistes, videos and albums, just tune in to MTV and enjoy,” claims director programming & TAR Ashish Patil.
The daily show MTV Imported features the hottest international video pick of the week. In addition, every Saturday from 10.30 to midnight, viewers can get their unlimited fix of the top of the chart international videos and international pop icons.
MTV Live presents the best live performances, concerts and sessions of your favourite bands every Sunday from 10.30 to midnight. This week MTV Live has Travis.
MTV Hoopla is aired on Fridays at 10 pm and Tuesday at 3.00 pm. The show has hip-hop stars and NBA players giving the lowdown on the latest hip hop videos, fashion do’s and don’ts, telling you how to rap and shoot hoops the way they do.
MTV Alert uncovers fresh and exciting sounds, directions and styles in music. Different music genres are mixed and mashed to derive really innovative sounds. This daily five-minute music segment culminates into a monthly 30-minute special programme.
MTV Graveyard Shift in Rock presents the best in rock music. Every Friday from 11.00 pm to 12.30 am, the show covers the classical rock favourites to the more contemporary Linkin Park and more.

MUMBAI: Samsung TV Plus has just turned up the laughter volume and it’s completely free. The leading free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) service in India has launched Kings of Comedy, a premium comedy channel featuring some of the country’s most beloved primetime shows.
