MTV to celebrate 15 August commercial free with ‘Mangal Pandey’

MUMBAI; On 15 August – -The Independence Day, MTV India will showcase 16 -hours sneak but much more than a peek of Aamir Khan’s much-awaited epic, Mangal Pandey – The Rising. MTV, the music channel will also celebrate 15 August by airing no advertisements for those 16 hours, states an official release. |

MTV Networks India vice-president and general manager creative and content Ashish Patil says, “If it’s never been done before, you can bet MTV’s going to do it first. This Independence Day, you can also celebrate freedom from advertisements with Mangal Pandey aka Aamir Khan for an entire day”

From 8 am to midnight, the channel will showcase some so-far-unreleased scenes culled out from over 200 hours of movie footage, along with interviews with the major cast members Aamir, Rani, Toby Stephens, Ameesha and the making of the film’s music. MTV will continue with The Rising – First Look every weekday at 10 am and 6 pm from 16 August to 31 August with Aamir Khan speaking about the kind of research that went into making of the film, informs the media release. |

TLC launches ‘World On My Plate’ with Shipra Khanna
New travel-food series premieres 29 March at 7:00 PM.
MUMBAI: Shipra Khanna just packed her bags and her flavours because when a celebrated chef takes you on a global plate tour, even the couch starts feeling like first-class. Warner Bros. Discovery India has announced the launch of World On My Plate with Shipra Khanna, a new travel and food series set to premiere on TLC on 29 March at 7:00 PM. Hosted and curated by the popular chef and television personality, the show blends food, travel and culture through an intimate and immersive lens.
Across three visually rich episodes, Shipra journeys to global destinations to explore not just what people eat, but why they eat it, uncovering the stories, traditions and human connections behind every dish. The series opens in London, weaving its iconic landmarks with diverse culinary scenes, before moving to Spain’s vineyards, olive orchards and coastal kitchens.
Warner Bros. Discovery head of advertising revenues for South Asia Tanaz Mehta said: “At TLC, our focus has always been on bringing authentic stories that reflect how people live and connect. World On My Plate builds on this by using food as a lens to explore shared traditions across geographies. According to a media release, MTV will feature all day long the most glorious songs, juiciest snippets and most exciting footage from Mangal Pandey. The movie from Bobby Bedi – Deepa Sahi production, directed by Ketan Mehta and distributed by Yashraj Films is scheduled to release on12 August.
