MUMBAI: Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) is designing a new generation satellite with unfurlable antenna for mobile television services.

“Satellite design is going on. It requires a huge antenna to be deployed in space and also high power. So, it’s in the process,” media reports quote Isro chairman G Madhavan Nair as saying. He said it would take two years before the satellite gets ready for launch.

Isro director, Bangalore Satellite Centre, Dr K N Shankara said that the proposed satellite would be a ‘multimedia’ one. He added that the developing of unfurlable antenna needed new technology which Isro was developing.
