Don 2 to release in UK on 21 Dec
MUMBAI: Reliance Entertainment will release Excel Entertainment‘s Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Don 2 across the UK on 21 December, two days before its India release on 23 December.
The film will not only be released before anywhere else, it will also be presented in the 3D format.
Reliance Entertainment UK head Prakash Bakrania said, “We‘re very pleased with the way Don 2 is shaping up and believe in its potential to deliver what the audience expects from this much awaited sequel.
“With Farhan Akhtar directing and Shah Rukh Khan leading the huge ensemble cast, the cherry on this cake is the 3D version which we‘re also releasing. We‘ve kept in mind the festive Christmas mood, the holidays and Shah Rukh Khan‘s huge UK fan base as we gear up to open the film here from Wednesday 21st Dec 2011.”
The second sequel to the 1978-made original, directed by Farhan Akhtar, stars Shah Rukh Khan along with Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta, Boman Irani and Kunal Kapoor among others.

MUMBAI: Bollywood’s popularity contest has a new weekly scorecard, and the numbers are telling. IMDb’s Popular Indian Celebrities list for this week places Shanaya Kapoor at number six, buoyed by buzz around her film Tu Yaa Main. Naila Grrewal slots in at seven on the back of the returning comedy series Maamla Legal Hai, while Rashmika Mandanna climbs to eighth, riding mounting anticipation for Cocktail 2.
The list, available exclusively on the IMDb app for Android and iOS, tracks trending Indian entertainers and filmmakers each week, drawing on data from more than 200m monthly visits to the platform worldwide.
Further down the rankings, Raaka is keeping two of its biggest names in the spotlight. Deepika Padukone holds 11th position, with Allu Arjun close behind at 13th, as the film continues to find traction with audiences.
The list offers fans a weekly pulse on who is breaking through, who is holding steady, and who is fading. It is a barometer as unsparing as the box office itself.
