DD Bangalore’s Hindi magazine ‘Aditya’ feted

NEW DELHI: Results of various competitions organized by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to promote the use of Hindi in official work during the ‘Hindi Fortnight’ are out.

Doordarshan’s Bangalore station was awarded the first prize for its Hindi magazine Aditya.. All India Radio, Itanagar’s Arunvani was awarded second prize, while Doordarshan Bhopal’s Drishti got the third prize.

I & B minister of state Ramesh Bais gave away the prizes. Speaking on the occasion, he said government employees should change their mindset and should not have any inferiority complex in using Hindi, according to an official release.

Bais also stressed the need for creating Hindi software for computers on a large scale in order to give a boost to the use of Hindi in official work.

More than 50 staff members received prizes for competitions in essay writing, poetry recitation, public speaking, writing of office notes, translation, Hindi stenography, typewriting and discussions etc.
