Cartoon Network, Pogo line up new shows, movies for March

MUMBAI: Activity usually heightens on kids’ channels during the sweltering summer months but this time round, as a run up to the summer, Cartoon Network and Pogo have launched a few new shows in March.

Cartoon Network introduced a four hour long series of Dexter called D 4 Dexter – G 4 Genius on 5 March, which airs from 4 pm to 8 pm. It’s exams time for kids and Dexter is all set to give tips on how and what to do during exam time. The channel is also running a contest simultaneously wherein kids can win a HP Compaq Presario every Sunday.

Apart from this, Good Morning Scooby has now been placed in a new time slot. Starting 6 March, the show will air from Monday to Sunday at 7 am to 8 am. This block features Tom and Jerry and Richie Rich.

Cartoon Network has crowned The Grim Reaper as the Character of the Month for March. The show will be aired every Sundays from 8 pm – 9 pm.

And that’s not all. As far as the movies block Cartoon Theatre is concerned, the channel will air Tom and Jerry: The Magic Ring on 12 March at 12 pm. On the other hand, Tin Tin and Mystery at Shark Lake will air on 19 March at 12 pm and the premier of The Pebble and the Penguin will be aired on 26 March at 12 pm.

Moving on to Pogo, the channel has begun airing NDTV’s show Chuppa Rustam from Monday to Friday at 7 pm. Chuppa Rustam is a reality comedy show where hidden cameras are used to capture the ‘gags’ played on people.

New episodes of Winx Club on Pogo will be aired starting 20 March at 4.30 pm. On Pogo Safari, Around The World In 80 Days will air on weekends at 7 pm from 4 March.

Mukta Arts and Green Gold ink MOU to animate iconic film IPs

Kalicharan, Karz, Hero, Karma, Ram Lakhan to spawn animated shows plus features.

MUMBAI: When classic hindi movie meets animation, the result is a fresh reel of nostalgia with a cartoon twist. Mukta Arts Ltd. and Green Gold Animation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on animated shows and feature films drawn from Mukta Arts’ four-decade treasure trove of iconic IPs. The partnership taps Mukta’s SGM Animation Studio launched in 2025 as its dedicated animation and games arm and Green Gold’s proven track record in building scalable, homegrown franchises. Creative teams from both sides have already kicked off discussions, with the first project currently in development.

The slate will draw inspiration from landmark Mukta films including Kalicharan, Karz, Hero, Karma, Ram Lakhan, Khalnayak, Saudagar and Iqbal, plus character-led spin-offs from those universes. The aim is to reimagine these stories for today’s young, global audiences while preserving their emotional core.

Green Gold Animation (home of Chhota Bheem) founder and CEO Rajiv Chilaka said, “This partnership with SGM Studios allows us to apply our experience in building long-lasting animation IPs to a truly iconic film catalogue. Together, we aim to create animated worlds that are rooted in these legendary stories, yet designed to connect with today’s young, global audiences.”

In an industry where timeless tales never go out of fashion, this collaboration promises to bring beloved characters back to life with a modern, animated glow proving that some stories are too good to stay in live-action. Stay tuned for the first animated frame to drop.
