MUMBAI: With great anticipation comes great ticket prices. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is already spinning a web around Indian moviegoers, with tickets for premium screenings climbing above Rs 3,700 in some cities ahead of the film’s 30 July release.

Marvel’s latest superhero outing, which marks Tom Holland’s return as Peter Parker alongside Zendaya, has witnessed brisk advance bookings across multiplex chains, particularly for premium large-format screens.

Ticket prices vary sharply depending on the city and viewing format. In Delhi, entry-level tickets are available from around Rs 250, while premium recliner seats are priced at nearly Rs 2,400. In Mumbai, some premium screenings have crossed Rs 2,700, while Bengaluru currently commands the country’s highest prices, with luxury viewing experiences exceeding Rs 3,700.

The wide pricing gap reflects the film’s release across multiple premium formats, including 2D, 3D, IMAX, 4DX, ScreenX, Dolby Cinema and other premium large formats, where immersive experiences typically command a significant premium over standard screenings.

The film will also be released in multiple Indian languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada, widening its reach across regional markets.

Industry expectations remain high both domestically and internationally. According to reports cited by global box office trackers, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is targeting an opening weekend gross of nearly $800 million, or roughly Rs 8,000 crore, worldwide, a figure that could place it among the biggest opening weekends in cinema history if achieved.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film marks Holland’s next standalone outing as Spider-Man following the record-breaking success of the previous instalments. Alongside Holland and Zendaya, the cast features Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink and Jon Bernthal.

The early booking momentum also highlights a broader trend in India’s theatrical business, where audiences continue to show a willingness to pay premium prices for franchise blockbusters and immersive formats. For multiplex operators, these high-value screenings have become an increasingly important driver of box office revenues.

As release day approaches, the web-slinger appears to be proving that superhero fatigue has yet to catch up with Indian audiences. If advance bookings are any indication, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is poised to swing into cinemas with both packed auditoriums and premium-priced seats.
