MUMBAI: Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting is putting more skin in the game. The company has acquired a 60 per cent stake in skincare brand Dermatouch at an enterprise value of Rs 387.5 crore, marking its entry into India’s premium skincare segment and its first acquisition of a digital-first brand.

The remaining 40 per cent stake is scheduled to be acquired over the next three years. Dermatouch co-founders Anish Nagpal and Amit Purswani, along with the existing management team, will continue running the business during the transition.

The deal is Wipro Consumer Care’s 18th acquisition globally and its third in the past month, highlighting the company’s continued reliance on acquisitions to expand its personal care portfolio.

Founded by Nagpal and Purswani, Dermatouch develops skincare products targeting concerns including pigmentation, acne, skin brightening and sun protection. Its portfolio spans face washes, soaps, serums, creams, moisturisers and sunscreens, sold through its own online platform, marketplaces and offline retail outlets.

The brand’s recent growth appears to have caught Wipro’s attention. Dermatouch reported Rs 131 crore in revenue in FY26, a 114 per cent increase over FY25. Its sales volumes have also jumped from around 60,000 products a month two years ago to more than 60,000 products a day, according to the company.

For Wipro Consumer Care, the acquisition brings a digital-first business into a portfolio that already includes skincare brands such as Derma Lab, Dr. Dermis and Bio-essence in international markets. The company said it has been looking for digital brands that can also build scale through physical retail, making Dermatouch’s existing offline distribution an important factor in the deal.

Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting CEO and Wipro Enterprises MD Kumar Chander said the company sees room to scale Dermatouch by combining its product development capabilities with Wipro’s distribution and other resources.

The partnership is also expected to give Dermatouch access to Wipro’s distribution network, research capabilities and international presence, potentially taking the brand beyond its current digital-first footprint.

The acquisition follows Wipro Consumer Care’s recent purchases of Good Home and Eva from TTK Healthcare, as well as S Brands in the Philippines.

With Dermatouch, Wipro is adding another fast-growing name to its personal care stable while making a bigger bet on India’s premium skincare market. The deal also signals a broader strategy: rather than building every new-age brand from scratch, Wipro is increasingly using acquisitions to buy into categories where consumer demand is already gaining traction.
