Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles backs Nehru Trophy Boat Race

MUMBAI: Tata Motors is rowing into Kerala’s festive spirit with a brand push that is making waves beyond the racecourse. The company’s Commercial Vehicles business has partnered with the 72nd edition of the Nehru Trophy Boat Race as its Official Title Sponsor, bringing its Tata Trucks brand into one of Kerala’s biggest sporting and cultural celebrations.

The partnership, with Havas Play leading the brand activation, places Tata Trucks under its ‘Desh Ke Trucks’ identity at the heart of the event, connecting the brand with the state’s Onam festivities and a tradition that has been part of Kerala’s cultural calendar for more than seven decades.

The activation stretches from the water to the stands, with Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles branding featured across Chundan Vallam boats and the race pavilion. The brand also rolled out fan engagement initiatives designed to bring audiences closer to the event.

Havas Play has partnered with Mazhavil Manorama to create a film around the association and drive creator-led storytelling. The campaign has also been amplified through Radio Mango and digital platforms, giving the Tata Trucks brand visibility across both traditional and digital touchpoints.

The partnership, however, is not set to end when the boats cross the finish line. Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles’ branding will remain at the Nehru Trophy Boat Race Pavilion for the next few months, extending the association beyond the race itself.

At its core, the partnership puts Tata Trucks alongside an event deeply rooted in Kerala’s community spirit and sporting tradition. Rather than simply showing up for race day, the brand is using the occasion to become part of the wider Onam season and the celebrations surrounding one of the state’s most recognisable cultural spectacles.
