Swiggy promotes Ashwin Chand to director of business

BENGALURU – Delivering on growth. That phrase neatly sums up the career trajectory of Ashwin Chand, who has been promoted to Director at Swiggy after more than seven years with the company.

The elevation marks another milestone in Chand’s journey at Swiggy, where he has steadily climbed the ranks while helping shape business planning, growth strategy, pricing frameworks, and customer engagement initiatives across the company’s consumer business ecosystem.

Chand announced the development on LinkedIn, writing: “I’m excited to share that I have been promoted to Director of Business at Swiggy!”

The promotion comes after a series of leadership roles at the company. Most recently, Chand served as general manager, discounting strategy, where he led initiatives focused on commercial optimisation and sustainable growth. Before that, he held senior manager and manager positions in business planning and strategy, contributing to key decision-making processes that supported Swiggy’s rapid expansion in an increasingly competitive market.

Over the years, Chand has built expertise across strategic planning, growth management, program execution, and commercial strategy. His work has played an important role in strengthening Swiggy’s approach to balancing customer acquisition, engagement, and profitability while supporting long-term business objectives.

Before joining Swiggy in 2019, Chand gained experience across multiple industries. He worked as a program manager at Ola, where he was involved in operational and business initiatives. Earlier, he completed a sales and marketing internship with Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages and began his professional career as a graduate engineering trainee at Jio.

His diverse background across technology, mobility, consumer businesses, and operations has helped shape a well-rounded leadership profile, combining analytical rigour with execution-focused business management.

As Swiggy continues to expand its food delivery, quick commerce, and consumer services portfolio, Chand’s elevation to director reflects the company’s emphasis on strengthening leadership from within.
