Swiggy elevates Rishabh Tak to director monetization

Longtime ads strategy leader steps up after helping shape Swiggy’s revenue ecosystem

BENGALURU: Food delivery and quick commerce major Swiggy has promoted Rishabh Tak to director monetization, marking the latest chapter in a five-year journey that has seen him play a pivotal role in building the company’s advertising and revenue-generation capabilities.

Tak announced the development on LinkedIn, stating that he was “happy to share” that he had taken on the new position. The elevation reflects Swiggy’s continued focus on strengthening its monetisation engine as advertising becomes an increasingly important revenue stream for digital platforms.

Since joining Swiggy in 2021, Tak has held a series of leadership roles across advertising strategy and business planning. Most recently, he served as general manager, ads, where he oversaw key initiatives aimed at expanding the company’s advertising business and enhancing monetisation opportunities across its ecosystem.

Prior to that, he spent more than two years as senior manager, ads strategy, helping shape advertising products, growth plans and commercial strategies. He also served as manager, ads planning and strategy, laying the groundwork for several of the company’s monetisation initiatives during a period of rapid expansion.

Over the course of his tenure, Tak has contributed to the evolution of Swiggy’s advertising business from a supporting function into a significant strategic pillar. His experience spans business development, business strategy, advertising operations and revenue optimisation.

Before joining Swiggy, Tak worked at Ecom Express Private Limited, where he served as programme manager and management trainee. Earlier in his career, he completed an equity research internship at Anand Rathi Financial Services Limited.

Tak holds an MBA from Indian Institute of Management Rohtak, where he served as vice president of the sports committee and was involved in organising TEDx events. He also holds commerce degrees from Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur.

The promotion comes at a time when digital advertising is emerging as a major growth driver for consumer internet companies. As Swiggy expands its offerings across food delivery, quick commerce and related services, monetisation strategies are becoming increasingly central to sustaining growth and improving profitability.

With deep experience across advertising strategy and commercial planning, Tak is expected to play a key role in strengthening Swiggy’s monetisation ecosystem and unlocking new revenue opportunities across the platform.
