Gajendra Singh Bhati steps down as entertainment editor at The Lallantop
After nearly a decade, senior journalist bids emotional farewell to platform
NEW DELHI: Gajendra Singh Bhati, entertainment editor at The Lallantop, has stepped down from his role, bringing to a close a near decade-long stint with the popular digital news platform backed by the India Today Group.
Bhati shared the update through an emotional social media post, writing, “Aagya ho! Ab chalunga. Praanon se seenche @thelallantop ko prem. Sada hi top,” signalling a heartfelt goodbye to the platform he helped shape.
Having joined The Lallantop in May 2016, Bhati played a key role in building its entertainment coverage, contributing to its rise as one of India’s most recognisable digital-first news brands. His tenure saw the platform strengthen its connect with audiences through sharp storytelling and culturally rooted content.
Bhati brings nearly two decades of experience across print and digital journalism. Before joining The Lallantop, he headed the entertainment and lifestyle news team at Dainik Bhaskar Group from July 2013 to May 2016. He also began his career with Business Standard and has been actively blogging on cinema and culture since 2008.
Originally from Bikaner in Rajasthan, Bhati studied journalism at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication and holds a postgraduate degree in mass communication from Kurukshetra University.
There is no official word yet on his next move, but given his experience and industry presence, Bhati is expected to take on a new role soon. For now, his exit marks the end of a significant chapter at The Lallantop, leaving behind a strong editorial legacy.
