MUMBAI: Café-bar chain SOCIAL has launched SOCIAL STUDIO, a dedicated creator space aimed at making content creation infrastructure more accessible to India’s growing creator community.

The initiative will initially roll out across six SOCIAL outlets in Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru, with select areas within the cafés converted into ready-to-use creator spaces. The spaces will allow creators to shoot, record, collaborate and produce content using professional equipment and SOCIAL’s existing physical infrastructure.

The first phase will be available at Chembur SOCIAL, Carter Road SOCIAL, Hauz Khas Village SOCIAL, Vasant Kunj SOCIAL, Indiranagar SOCIAL and JP Nagar SOCIAL.

The creator spaces will offer professional microphones, tripods, studio lights, green screens and shooting props. The initiative is designed to give creators access to the tools, space and environment needed to experiment with formats, collaborate and develop ideas.

Impresario Entertainment & Hospitality chief growth officer Divya Aggarwal said the company had seen creators using SOCIAL’s spaces to make content, meet people and build communities around ideas. She added that SOCIAL STUDIO is the next step in the brand’s evolution as creativity increasingly becomes a career and business.

The company is positioning SOCIAL STUDIO as more than an equipment rental facility, with the spaces intended to support content production, collaboration and experimentation.

The launch builds on SOCIAL’s earlier SOCIAL Works initiative, under which its cafés were opened to founders, independent professionals and young teams looking for flexible spaces to work, meet and build.

With content creation becoming increasingly important across podcasts, video, fashion, food, entertainment, gaming and digital storytelling, SOCIAL STUDIO extends the brand’s focus on providing physical spaces for evolving work and creative practices.

The initiative also comes amid greater institutional focus on India’s creative economy. The Union Budget 2026-27 included plans for AVGC Content Creator Labs across 15,000 secondary schools and 500 colleges, highlighting the growing focus on creative skills and content-led careers.

According to SOCIAL’s cultural report Voices of the Hood, 54 per cent of respondents said Instagram was the app they used most frequently. The report highlights the growing role of digital platforms in how young urban audiences consume, discover and express culture.

SOCIAL plans to expand SOCIAL STUDIO to six more cities in its second phase, covering Pune, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Lucknow and Dehradun.

With SOCIAL STUDIO, the café-bar chain is looking to make its physical outlets part of India’s expanding creator infrastructure, bringing together space, equipment and community under one roof.
